What is a reservoir digital twin?

Digital twin oil and gas reservoirs refer to the construction of digital twin simulation models of oil and gas reservoirs, which can quantify and approximate the real oil and gas reservoirs to the maximum extent, timely and accurately characterize the dynamic changes of the oil and gas reservoirs throughout their life cycle, and simulate the development behavior of the physical world oil and gas reservoir entities in real environments. That is, during the entire life cycle of oil and gas reservoir development, real-time information on underground reservoir and fluid field changes (including wellbore, layer and three-dimensional space information) is collected, combined with the geological knowledge of new wells and the production dynamic data of known wells, dynamic iterative modeling and oil and gas reservoir simulation, and the dynamic parameter model of oil and gas reservoirs is quickly corrected to build a "live model" of oil and gas reservoir parameters, quantify and approximate the real oil and gas reservoirs to the maximum extent, timely and accurately characterize the dynamic changes of reservoir parameters and fluids throughout the life cycle of oil and gas reservoirs, and simulate the development behavior of physical oil and gas reservoir entities in real environments on the basis of digital twins.
